Bob Jappe enthusiastically creates wheel-thrown pottery. He believes his art is best appreciated with daily use, allowing that favorite mug to begin a memorable day.

A Minnesota native, Bob taught high school art in the Minneapolis area before moving to Colorado's ski country. Art remained his passion over the years while living in the awe-inspiring mountains and then decades in the fertile valley of Western Colorado's wine country. Commercial art consumed his day job in Keystone Resort's marketing department and later as owner of an advertising agency and publishing company. The fine art of pottery continued to be a spare-time pursuit at the local art center where he collaborated with talented clay artists, participated in gallery shows, and taught pottery classes.

Bob has now moved back to Minnesota to continue his journey in ceramic arts on a full-time basis. He is currently a resident/potter at Schmidt Artist Lofts in St. Paul, Minnesota.

I had to balance my time between the demands for the things I loved—-competitive athletics and creative pursuits.
